Roxy Wright’s debut poetry collection The Loosely Cobbled Mind: Poetry Album I, introduces her unique style of storytelling through the meticulous art of poetry. Roxy’s first collection opens with her distorted sense of self and showcases Roxy’s desire to take her pain, dress it up, and make it sing for her reader.
This first collection explores themes such as death, loss, emptiness, and love turned cold. Roxy also sprinkles in her reflections on poetry itself and offers glimpses inside her mind and past lives. Whether you’re an avid reader of poetry, or picking up a collection for the first time, there is something here for everyone.
The Loosely Cobbled Mind deviates from the traditional layout of a contemporary poetry collection. Roxy’s struggle with ADHD, combined with her intense love of vocabulary, resulted in a mixed media collection. Each poem is meant to be experienced as a two-page layout and includes photographs, graphics, illustrations, and editing which Roxy feels will add to the emotional experience of each piece.
Roxy’s poetry is meant to be read, absorbed, felt, and pondered. Poetry found Roxy at a dark time in her life and became an outlet through which she was able to process loss, divorce, and the darker parts of human nature. Her one true wish is for readers of all ages across the globe, to know one singular truth: Poetry is for everyone.
Thank you for exploring the human condition with us as we get our formal opportunity to peek into Roxy Wright’s loosely cobbled mind.
